Fire Extinguisher Program/Smoke Detectors

If one of our policyholders discharges an extinguisher to put out any fire, we will replace the extinguisher with a new comparable unit, free of charge upon receipt of a written occurrence report from the policyholder.

We continue to offer good quality fire extinguishers (ABC) through our agents and brokers at the following subsidized costs (including taxes):

Battery powered smoke detectors are also available for $10.00, including taxes.

Fire extinguishers should be checked and serviced annually by qualified personnel. FLAME-TAMER Fire & Safety Ltd. provides discounted rates to Peel Mutual policyholders (have your policy number with you). They are located at:

Emergency Tube Program

Emergency Tube Programs are being initiated by fire departments and various farm safety organizations throughout the province. The program provides valuable information to fire fighters at the time of a fire that will increase their efficiency and safety at fire locations and should result in reduced fire losses. As a progressive insurer, we add our support to the program by offering to reimburse our policyholders in full for the purchase of this important item.
