Farm - Electrical Hazards

Electrical Hazards

Electrical problems are one of the most common causes of devastating fire.

  • Are your electrical receptacles safe? Frequently used receptacles in the barn and shop should be inspected, and, if necessary, replaced to ensure solid electrical contacts.
  • Always use an industrial grade receptacle rather than a residential grade receptacle for farm and shop applications.
  • If extension cords are required for temporary use, always use a CSA approved product of the proper guage wire to avoid overheating and reduced voltage.
  • Extension cords are only for temporary use.
